Marking our 2nd birthday
Let’s start with something really positive. It’s 2 years since we embarked on the DressCode journey. When we set out, the future was uncertain, it is probably more uncertain today than ever, but we’re not deterred. We remain optimistic, drawing strength from the reception our work receives around the world. None of what you've seen in DressCode is ever taken for granted, we are thrilled to have achieved so much over the past two years, we appreciate the support, friendship and great conversation that we've had along the way. This blog is about sharing with you what's coming next - our ambitions for next year and beyond. But first...
We have to say thank you to all our customers, I can’t tell you how much it means to see and hear about your DressCode experiences, sharing in those moments and hearing the reactions and interactions you’ve had whilst wearing the shirts is…fantastic, brilliant, humbling, motivating, invigorating, proud, motivating, amazing and so much more, let’s just say, it makes the working day go so much quicker, knowing that other people are enjoying this journey as much as we are.
"In a word: Wow! You have a fantastic product and I will be ordering more from you". Karl Gjertsen
We love designing and developing the shirts, after two years of delivery we have learnt a lot. The learning list is long, it’s helped us shape new products, like the CashCuff - the World's First Payment Shirt, that we are very proud of. It’s building a business that challenges the status quo, does things a little differently to create great sustainable products.
Feedback
There simply is no greater motivation than hearing from happy customers. It inspires us as we explore new concepts and develop the designs. Tell us what you think.
Birthday celebrations
To say thank you to our customers we have put together a special birthday weekend offer, you'll find it on your email. It’s our way of saying thanks and sharing the celebration, reaching our two year anniversary.
If you're not a customer yet, you can find out more by subscribing to our newsletters here.
Looking forward
Face Masks
DressCode has always been about providing a first class experience, we developed every aspect of our products to be world class. Pocket squares are a big part of the DressCode experience, but at no point did we envisage making turning them into Face Masks. Following customer requests, we looked at our stock and adapted. Within a week we had Face Masks ready to go and have been up-cycling pocket squares ever since with our local team in Cambridge.
Face masks remain very much part of our future, we have masks to match all of our designs with one of two specials in there as well, see the full range here.
Supporting carers
We are in awe of the amazing work the NHS and frontline workers continue to deliver. We wanted to show this respect and say thank you, so we're donating 10% of the price of every Face Mask bought to NHS charities.
CashCuff development
The CashCuff innovated contactless payments pre-Covid. It is the World’s 1st Payment Shirt, the technology is supported by the best of the best, working closely with MasterCard, MuchBetter and Payment Ready to deliver a first class experience. There’s still nothing like it…and nothing quite like the affect when using it to pay, it feels magical – watch this demonstration.
The applications for NFC technology continue to grow, there are a lot of opportunities to embrace more simple, useful services into our clothing. We are moving this forward, ever mindful not to add to peoples digital distraction (see the blog), with useful functions.
Our latest ideas are currently in ‘testing’ - we’re exploring the realms of the tech and the functionality with the ambition to have new products next year…fingers crossed.
Collaboration
DressCode is working alongside a global research institute to develop shirts that communicate their story - a unique combination of data and environmental science. This is a really exciting project that will see a unique design created, look out for more details in the coming months with shirts available early 2021.
Investment
Pushing the boundaries of design and technology is a big task, we can’t do this alone, in fact we don’t want to do this alone. We are always open to conversations about collaborations and are currently speaking with collaborators and investors and would welcome any introductions or ideas you may have – email us!
Thanks again
Our first two years are now under our belts and there’s lots of thank you’s to make. We’re looking forward to the next year and the next chapter, excited by the opportunities that lay ahead, but most of all right now, we’re looking forward to cake…and beer. Perhaps not together, thank you again for your continued support.
